The autumn calendar of jumps racing truly kicks into gear at Cheltenham Racecourse between Friday, 14th and Sunday, 16th November, when the much-anticipated November Meeting unfolds. This three-day fixture is increasingly recognised as the second-biggest meeting at Cheltenham outside the March Festival and provides an early glimpse of the stars of the season to come.
There’s more to the November Meeting than just racing. The event has been renamed as “Racing’s Ultimate Weekender” and combines top-class National Hunt action with a vibrant on-course atmosphere, live music, and a festival feel. From the famous Cheltenham Hill to the iconic parade ring, the meeting offers punters and spectators alike a serious dose of big-race quality plus early clues to form ahead of the major spring festivals.
The positioning in mid-November has made it a key starting point for trainers and owners to test their horses in meaningful contests, especially handicaps. The meeting has grown from a modest weekend into a standout autumn fixture.
Though definitive runners' lists will only be finalised closer to the meeting, several names have already emerged in the ante-post lists. Here are the runners to watch out for, according to horse racing betting online:
These races provide a dual benefit: they allow connections to test horses under useful markers (handicap or listed/chase) early in the season, and they also give fans and professional observers indications of form heading into the more elite fixtures of winter and spring. The course at Cheltenham, particularly its Old Course for many of the November races, provides valuable preparation.
For jump racing fans, the November Meeting at Cheltenham is more than a warm-up. With a packed card of feature races, strong contender lists and a festival atmosphere, it ticks all the boxes across three days. Whether you’re following a rising hurdler like Give It To Me Oj, watching a high-profile chaser enter the fray in the Gold Cup, or simply soaking up the Cotswold hillside air, this meeting offers something special.
